Wales to keep the dream alive

It’s semi-final time and Wales will hope to keep the dream alive against Portugal who are starting to find form at the perfect time. Who will come out on top of the two Real Madrid stars when Ronaldo and Bale clash in Lyon on Wednesday night?

Portugal v Wales

Both teams are peaking at the right time and although Portugal are favourites there’s not much between the two teams. Ronaldo and his team mates are yet to win a match and could possibly reach the final without gaining a victory in 90 mins play, a record that will be hard to beat. We’re still waiting for the Real Madrid star to hit top form and you have the feeling he may be saving that for the final itself, if they get that far! Both teams have played well defensively and with Aaron Ramsey a big miss for Chris Coleman, he may pour more emphasis on keeping his opponents at bay. It’s hard to see Portugal not scoring though, and with Gareth Bale and Robson-Kanu looking full of confidence we reckon that a 1-1 scoreline after 90 minutes is a cracking bet.

Gareth Bale didn’t get involved in the Belgium game as much as we thought, but will yet again be the talisman for the Welsh on Wednesday night. Aaron Ramsey missing will mean Bale will be expected to get more possession and at 11/5 he looks a great bet to score anytime during regular play. If we’re correct with our score prediction then extra time will be the order of the day, and we’ll have everything crossed that the Welsh Dragons can make it through to their first ever final.
