Betting Tips for the Smart Punter

Sprinters are centre stage

Stage 3 of Le Tour and the sprinters will be centre of attention today. It’s the second longest stage of the tour and flat as a pancake, so expect it to be fast and furious with plenty of the GC boys wary of being involved in any crashes along the way. Yesterday I vert nearly grabbed a 6/1 winner and Alaphilippe was just pipped on the line by the mercurial Peter Sagan. A couple of value selections for today.

Mark Cavendish beat Marcel Kittel in stage 1 for the very first time in his career, and the Manx man is a rider who thrives on confidence. That win will elevate him to bigger expectations and his team look to have the strongest lead out train in the peloton. Eisel and Renshaw can see him safely to the front where neither Kittel or Griepel will be able to deal with his raw pace. He’s third favorite for today’s stage and well worth a bet.

Edward Theuns was a surprising fourth on the opening stage and that may not have been a one off. He also has a great train around him and tyhe Trek boys are going really well so far in France, nearly nicking a win yesterday. He’s a huge 50/1 for victory and it’s not beyond him to grab a podium with the top sprinters all marking each other come the finish.
