We’ve made profits on the last two GP’s and I’m confident of more positive rewards as we travel to the most glamorous F1 meeting of the year, it can only be Monaco! The paddock head to the principality and the focus will be on whether the Mercedes can bounce back from their unforgettable race in Spain a couple of weeks ago.
A fortnight ago Rosberg and Hamilton collided giving the Red Bulls and Ferrari’s a chance to fight for a unexpected win. History was made with Max Verstappen becoming the youngest ever driver to win an F1 race. It won’t be the same this week once Mercedes get going and I’m all over Nico Rosberg returning to winning ways on a track he calls home.
He won the last three races at this track starting from pole twice, and the race in 2012 the German came second after starting third on the grid. He obviously loves it in Monaco and I make him favorite against Hamilton, who isn’t getting the rub of the green and seems to be trying too hard to make up the deficit in the Championship. As per usual the qualifying will be vital to getting track position early on, and Monaco is hard to over take, so a pole would be excellent for Rosberg, but even in second place I see his team getting the tactics spot on for race day.
Top 10 (Points)
In Russia and Spain I put up Sergio Perez to grab a top 10 place and he rewarded us with two very good weekends of profit. This weekend I can see his team mate Nico Hulkenburg taking it to the other drivers and pushing in all the sessions for a top 10. He has a good record at Monaco and has always qualified impressively around the street track. and points were never out of the question. Once again he’s worth a bet to finish high up and his record in Spain is a good one. Force India are becoming more consistent this season with reliability no longer the issue. In China he started to show why he’s highly rated with a great qualyfying session followed by good race paceand followed that up in Sochi, so confidence is high. The Mexican can record some more dearly needed points for his team.
