Return to podium for Pedrosa

The last four weekends of motorsport we’ve made money with our selections, and this weekend should be no different. We head to Spain for Moto GP and the championship is wide open with plenty to play for. Yamaha are looking consistently fast with both riders high on confidence after a recent 1-2 in Mugello. The question is can anyone get in on the act and compete around Catalunya.

Catalunya Moto GP

Let’s look at the main contenders… it’s hard to see past Jorge Lorenzo after his performance in Italy, but his qualifying was nothing special and he managed to slipstream the riders in front to get a great first lap position and finally pinch the victory on a photo finish against Marquez. If he qualifies as badly in Catalunya I can’t see him getting the rub of the green again. He has a big chance to extend his lead in the Championship this weekend, but he’s far to short to place a bet on.  His team mate is also a fairly short proposition considering he hasn’t won around here in eight years, and obviously has his limitations at the track. On to the third amigo, and Marc Marquez would love a win here to get him back in to contention, but it’s hard to back the youngster with out the fear of getting thrown off the bike. Constantly on the brink he’s an aggressive rider who will do anything for that pass, the Spaniard doesn’t have a great record here with only one win two years ago and a 125cc victory back in 2010. My money is going on Dani Pedrosa this weekend, a specialist at this track, he also put in a good round at Mugello finishing fourth only five seconds back from Lorenzo. He’s obviously starting to find his race pace and if he can improve on qualifying then he’s has a great chance of being in the mix come Sunday.

Dani Pedrosa 1 point E/W @ 20/1

(Pays 2 places at third the odds)
