Marito (7.50 Stratford) @ 2/1 (NAP)
A really big race at Stratford with many Cheltenham and Punchestown horses competing. Marito is ultra consistent and finished behind the classy On The Fringe a recently. He’s had many of these in his rear view mirror this season and there no reason why the it won’t happen again. The fact the trainer has bought him over from Ireland for this valuable race is a big pointer and the NAP should oblige.
Huntsman Close (4.35 Goodwood) @ 6/1 E/W (Next Best)
Quite a decent looking handicap with a few going up against each other again. My selection has won four times over this distance and his last run can be put down to a pipe opener for the season to blow away the cobwebs. He’s beaten the favourite last season and the weights are very similar, so if getting back to last seasons form he will take all the beating.
National Service (2.00 Carlisle) @ 14/1 E/W (In With A Chance)
Only ran three days ago, so the trainer must think highly of him to send him out so quickly, and also the we can presume he’s fit for that recent run. The five year old has won four times including over today’s distance. This race won’t take too much winning and the booking of Joe Fanning gives me more confidence in a big run.
