Betting Tips for the Smart Punter

Jerry Kelly worth getting on

The John Deere Classic is squeezed in alongside the Olympics and so doesn’t have the level of attendance as past years. Still plenty of fed ex cup points to play for and we have a few great looking bets including Jerry Kelly who is worth getting on.

Zach Johnson heads the market and has good form around the course, but at single figures he’s too short to back this week and there’s value to be found elsewhere. My first pick is old timer Jerry Kelly who ticks all the right boxes this weekend. He alwats plays well here and is coming in to a bit of form. He’s been neaten by much better players recently and there’s not much quality in this field that can topple him if he starts well.

Patrick Rodgers is also finding his feet on the PGA tour and last week performed well enough to show he’s worth a bet. Tied third at The Travellers off the back of a good display in Canada means the young gun is readying himself for a tilt at victory. As stated already there is not much depth in the field so if Rodgers can be there at the weekend he has big chances.

The third and final pick for the John Deere is Australian Cameron Smith. He’s found it hard this year on the American circuit after a good previous season in Australia, but he did shoot three rounds in the 60’s last week and if it wasn’t for a poor last round he would have finished top 20. He’s a big price so I’m happy to throw a few quid on him each way.
