Betting Tips for the Smart Punter

Euro 2016 Group B Tips

Containing both England and Wales, this will be a group that has plenty of interest for many reasons. We have Group B tips that bring plenty of value for your casual punter and experienced bettor. Will England finally play to their potential, can Gareth Bale perform for the Welsh dragons and can Russia cause problems for the two home nations?

Roy Hodgson has stated that his team will play attacking football and let’s hope he sticks to his word. Defence looks extremely weak and both Cahill and Smalling are short on confidence, without much cover for them. A 4-3-3 looks quite likely with Kane and Vardy spearheading the attack and Rooney in the number 10 slot. Harry Kane has been in great form for Spurs for two seasons and has 5 goals in 12 internationals so far. He looks certain to start and along with his free kick responsibility, he can take advantage of plenty of possession and chances. We’re going to double up on him for top England and tournament scorer.

An amazing achievement to reach the Euros, they could be the dark horses to spring a surprise, as long as their star man performs. Gareth Bale is quite phenomenal and if it wasn’t for Ronaldo at Real, he would surely get more plaudits from around the world. He dragged Wales through the qualifying and will be fired up to repeat that feat in the group. The games are harder but the team are strong and will supply Bale who should be their top marksmen, but at 10/11 it’s too short to place money on.

After a disappointing World Cup in Brazil where they failed to get through their group, the Russians will hope to improve on that display. Unfortunately they are missing two top players in Alan Dzagoev and Denis Cheryshev who sustained injuries at the end of the season. A potentially hard group they may be lucky to qualify and a lot weighs on their game against Slovakia with the possibility of a third place enough to get them through.

Making their debut in The Euros in France, Slovakia have plenty of talent in their squad, including Napoli play-maker Marek Hamsek, who is integral to Slovakia’s positive performances. They boast plenty of skill but lack pace to really frighten other teams, and this could well be their downfall. It’s an obvious pick, but bottom in Group B looks a near certainty and at 5/4 it’s a pretty good bet to place.
