Goninodaethat (2.35 Ayr) @ 5/1 E/W (NAP)
An amazing record at this track, the topweight has recorded all six wins at this track, including some over the distance, so he could pop up and win at any time. Jim Goldie’s eight year old had a pipe opener last month and ran well enough, that should shake off the cobwebs and a big run is expected at very nice odds.
Samtu (5.05 Warwick) @ 11/2 E/W (Next Best)
Yesterday’s next best won at a huge 14/1 to put us back in front for May. Today’s is unlikely to go off at such a big price, but is still value at 11/2. Dan Skelton dropped him back to 2 miles last month and along with the sounder surface he won a good contest at Bangor. Very similar conditions for the five year old today and I expect a big run and a big chance of back to back wins, despite the 6lb rise in the weights.
Ocean Legend (8.25 Kempton) @ 9/1 E/W (In With A Chance)
A very open handicap and my selection is gradually slipping down the weights to put him in with a good shout. He’s a lot older than his rivals but that experience may come in to use and winning 18 races, 15 on the all weather is nothing to sneer at. One of the best jockeys around takes the ride with Adam Kirby often coming up trumps in these sort of heats. Early money is also a good sign for my selection.
