Austrian superstar David Alaba of Bayern Munich can inspire his team to get off to the perfect start with a victory over Group F rivals Hungary in Bordeaux.
Alaba has been oustanding for Bayern this season, but he was even better in midfield for Austria over their hugely impressive qualifying campaign. They won 9 games and drew 1 which saw them finish a massive 8 points ahead of Russia. That’s a record bettered only by England’s perfect 10 wins out of 10.
Marc Janko was the Austrian topscorer in the qualifying campaign and his partnership with Stoke’s Marko Arnautovic is one to be feared.
Hungary on the other hand laboured to a playoff victory over the average Norwegians and look like they are here to make up the numbers.
We’re very confident in a comfortable Austrian win on Tuesday and are backing them to win by more than 1 goal at a massive price of 9/4.

As always, all eyes will be on Cristiano Ronaldo when he lines up for Portugal in their opener against Iceland on Tuesday night in Saint Etienne. The Real Madrid maestro will be earning a record 127th cap equalling the great Luis Figo.
We all know about Ronaldo’s ridiculous scoring record, but his anytime scorer odds are so short here. We would have been tempted by Ricardo Quaresma getting on the scoresheet, but there are doubts about his fitness and he may only play a small part in the game, if anything at all.
Instead we are backing Nani to score at anytime. He has a good record for the national team and always enjoys a lot of freedom since Ronaldo usually takes 2 or 3 players with him wherever he goes.
Iceland’s defensive record recently has been poor with 17 goals conceded in their last 8 matches. We reckon they will concede more than 1 against Portugal and Nani is a great bet to grab himself a goal.
